Really nice article over at the Washington Post about how people get attached to robots featuring Mark Tilden. The article talks about how Tilden developed a centipede like robot for exploding landmines. It lost a leg every time a mine went off, but kept going like the Energizer bunny. When it got down to its last leg, the colonel in charge stopped the test, stating the test was inhumane. The article goes on to talk about how soldiers in Iraq use robots and become attached to them.
