Weekly Robot Roundup - The Beat Goes On
Friday, May 25th, 2007 Check it out. Lemurplex in Brooklyn is hosting this awesome event called Robosonic Eclectic. You have to love this amazing poster by cairobot. Check out C3PO playing a guitar. Anyhow, this event features They Might Be Giants, JG Thurwell, and robots among others. Wired.com had an article in March featuring songs specifically made to be ringtones by They Might Be Giants. Read and listen here. I wonder if my future robot will have it’s own ringtone and answer annoying marketing calls for me? We particuarly like the Ramones style ringtone entitled Phone Phone Phone.  Up next is a new press release from Ugobe, makers of the forthcoming Pleo. Own your very own robotic baby dinosaur. No word on an actual release date, but they have released this image of the box and included the fact that Pleo will come with a rechargeable battery. Caleb Chung, founder of Ugobe has also recently made Forbes Magazine 24 Top Innovators list. |
