Jeeves Bot Anyone?

007Domestic robots from Mobile Robots are now available. Three models, the Jeeves, the BrewskiBot and Agent 007 (shown here) can be had for Christmas if ordered by November 8th.

The BrewskiBot holds up to 2 six packs and Jeeves serves snacks from a tray. Agent 007 monitors your home and greets intruders with a loud warning.

However, all this domestic help doesn’t come cheap and the three models go for $30,000 to $34,000.

iRobot Announces Winner of Contest

Huge Robot Exhibit

KarfeThe National Museum of Nature and Science in Japan is having a robot exhibit from now until January 27 2008. The exhibit features robots like Karfe, pictured here, made by students at Nippon Engineering College.

What would a robot exhibition in Japan be without Honda’s Asimo? See him at the exhibition as well.

Huge Scary Robot Unveiled in London

Jason Taylor RobotA giant robot designed to look like Miami Dolphins football player Jason Taylor has been unveiled in London.

The robot can move at up to 5 miles an hour and transmits images from a camera inside his helmet onto a 40 ft screen.

The Miami Dolphins are playing the New York Giants in their first game ever outside of the United States and the robot is being used to promote the match in London.

STARMAC Robotic Helecopter

starmacMeet STARMAC (The Stanford Testbed of Autonomous Rotorcraft for Multi-Agent). A five person team from Stanford has been designing quadrotor helicopters that fly on their own.

They are using algorithms to let series of helicopters communicate with each other as well as avoid obstacles while flying.

Each helicopter uses GPS and has an on board computer containing the algorithms.
