Robot Galaxy Opens

A new kind of store called Robot Galaxy has just opened 2 locations in the New York city area. In the store you can build your own robot. Pictured here is the robot Pango. The store offers 5 different models based on the comic called The Brotherhood.
The basic premise of the store is to make it more of an interactive experience rather than just buying something. Prices range form $27 to $70 depending on how many accessories you pick.
While these robots seem great for young kids, they are a bit dorky looking. Have any of our readers been to one of these stores yet?

I live in Bergen County and took my son to the new Robot Galaxy store yesterday once I saw the piece in the Bergen Record and it was love at first sight! He is 9 years old and has always been frustrated spending time in Build-A-Bear while his sister builds a ballerina teddy bear! Finally someone has considered young boys and brought salvation to mothers everywhere - All i can say is Thank you Robot Galaxy! My son even wants to have his next birthday party there and has been telling all his friends about it even though his birthday is in May. I highly recommend this store to parents with boys - you might even try it as bait to get your son to do his chores as I have……..just a suggestion.

I have to agree i am 10, but i still love robotgalaxy. i definatly recommend this to anybody looking for a way for their son to have an enjoyeble building expierience.

We went to Toys R Us yesterday in NYC and built Pango. Its really neat. We have had trouble logging online to play but the concept is great.

I have two girls, ages 4 and 8, who just love RobotGalax. They play with their robots all of the time, and now there are even great games on line at http://www.robotgalaxy.com. This is a very cool blend of Build-A-Bear with say Webkins. I love that, although the focus is boys, my girls love it too. I hear they just introduced a new girl robot named Crystal. The Times Square location is amazing!
