Twendy One, a new household robot, was unveiled this week. The robot is made by Japanese researchers at Waseda University.
In the demonstration, the robot picked up a tray of food and carried it to a table.
Twendy-One is able to pick up a variety of objects such as coffee cups, plastic bottles among other things. Twendy-One’s sensitive touch also allows the robot to pick up items like bread and fruit without crushing them.
The researchers aim to have the 244 pound robot ready for commercial sale in 2015
