Remotec is a subsidiary of Northrup Grumman that makes military robots similar to those made by iRobot.

Shown here is the model F6A.

The company recently gave a demonstration of this robot at a luncheon.

The F6A weighs 485 lbs, cab be radio controlled or tethered, has a gripper arm, comes with a 26x optical/12x digital camera and can climb stairs.  The F6A also sports “disruptors” that can fire shotgun shells or shoot water through objects like backpacks or boxes.

This robot is designed to aid bomb squad technicians, first responders and military personnel.  Depending on the configuration, the robot can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $200,000.
