Lost in Space Actor Passes Away

ld-6The actor who played the robot on the tv show Lost in Space has passed away.

Bob May  played the robot on Lost in Space by wearing a robotic suit for hours at a time.  Bob actually did not say the robot’s famous catch phrase, “Danger Will Robinson.”, that was done by an announcer.

Dr. Smith, played by Jonathan Harris, often referred to the robot as , “You bubble-headed booby!”.

Bob May also appeared in movies with Jerry Lewis, on the tv show McHale’s Navy and a variety of other tv shows and films.

He passed away on Sunday at the age of 69 due to heart failure.

The Robot is a Model B-9, Class M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot, which had no given name.
