Swiss scientists from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich have developed a tiny corkscrew shaped robot.
The robot is able to swim through liquids and is so small it could be used to repair a humans arteries. It is about one half the width of a human hair.
The robot is partly made up of nickel, allowing it to move up to a speed of 20 micrometres per second in a low magnetic field. By controlling or turning the magnetic field, the robot can be steered toward the intended target.
