Heartland Robotics was recently started by Rodney Brooks after leaving iRobot.
Heartland Robotics is still in stealth mode, but they do give us a clue as to what they will be doing on their website.
Heartland Robotics is combining the power of computers – embodied in robots – and the extraordinary intelligence of the American workforce, to increase productivity and revitalize manufacturing.
This certainly falls in line with Amazon and its recent acquisition of Zappos and their Kiva warehouse robots.
Jeff Bezos used Bezos Expeditions, his personal investment vehicle, to fund Heartland Robotics with $7 million according to documents filed on 8/21/09..
