Flowerbots

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Researchers from Chonnam National University in South Korea have unveiled a robotic flower.

This flower can produce oxygen, emit fragrances and moves to face people when they are near enough.  The flower also responds to music and light.

There is no price or release date yet.

Another robotic flower is TeRK (Telepresence Robot Kit).  This is a kit and website from CREATE labs at Carnegie Mellon.

This robotic flower kit can be programmed to open and close, track objects and even catch a light ball.

This kit, while on the pricey side at $725, seems very cool and educational.
