Airplanes and helicopters try to take you out, but you can zap them with your laser beam.  Destroy the city as you level up.  Robot Rampage is available now in the iTunes store for $1.99.

BarBot 2010

By Chief Robot | Filed in Entertainment, Robot News

Barbot

BarBot 2010 is almost upon us.  If you live in San Fransisco head over to the DNA Lounge this Wednesday night for cocktails made by robots and swinging tunes by Marv, the robotic vibraphone!  BarBot is the US version of Roboexotica, held every year in Vienna.

BarBot is a celebration of cocktail culture and man-machine interface. Get a drink from an actual robot. Chat up a snarky electronic bartender. Listen to some graceful tunes being played by robotic music makers. And, after downing your sixth martini, you can finally admit that it’s the geeks who shall inherit the earth.

Click through for a video of Chapek the robotic bartender, shown above, in action from 2008. Also make sure to look out for Marv the robotic vibraphone playing live.

Robotland

By Chief Robot | Filed in Entertainment, Robot News

korea, robotland, robot theme parkWere not sure which is more exciting, robots vs pirates or Robotland.

Well Robotland in South Korea has finally secured enough funding to sketch up some cool renders of the robot theme park.  The park has secured $230 million of a $600 million budget and expects to open in 2012 and break even in 2014.  What does that tell you about robots?

Robotland will have a water park, Robot Aquarium where you can actually touch robotic fish, residences, shops, Robot Battle Stadium, Robot Flower Island, Robot Museum and more.

The theme park will also have some content provided by such  famous robots as, Terminator, Robocop, I-Robot, Transformers, Astroboy.  What the actual content is they don’t say.  Probably just schwag like mugs and t-shirts, but hopefully some actual robots.

Wow, sign me up for a trip to south Korea!
