DARPA’s $71.2 Million Robotic Arm

proto2-748700DARPA has over 300 engineers working for the DARPA’s Revolutionizing Prosthetics 2009 program.  They have been working on a project to create a new robotic arm.

The program was started in 2005 and includes people from different schools such as CalTech and Johns Hopkins University.

So far they have spent $71.2 million and may get up to $100 million before they are done.  The final design should be complete in late 2009 or 2010.

This robotic arm promises to bring cyborg & human relations to new levels.
