iRobot from Bedford Ma has sold off it’s defense division to Arlington Capital Partners.

iRobot makes a variety of robots including the Packbot, which has seen active duty overseas in Iraq and other countries.  The other defense robots in the sale include FirstLook, SUGV and Kobra.

A new group called Endeavor Robotics has been formed to take over iRobot’s Defense and Security division bought by Arlington Capital Partners.

iRobot signed an agreement to sell its Defense and Security business to Arlington Capital Partners for up to $45 million, but an actual purchase price has not been revealed.

iRobot can now concentrate on making more robots for your house like the Roomba,  the Looj or the Braava jet, the wet floor cleaning robot.
