Plasmabot
Scientists have received a grant to develop a robot made of mold, or as they call it a Plasmabot. The scientists from the University of the West of England have received a Leverhulme Trust grant worth £228,000 to create a robot using plasmodium.
Remember that high school science project you did of watching mold grow on a piece of bread in your refrigerator? Well, if you had let it grow a little longer you may have ended up with a robot!
Professor Andy Adamatzky states they have already proven the ability of the mold to have computational abilities through previous research.
Until recently, the school actually had a job available for this very project.
