RoboSwift

RoboSwift Dutch students of engineering have developed a Micro Air Vehicle dubbed RoboSwift. This bird inspired vehicle has the ability to adjusts it’s wings as needed. That’s right, it does not have solid fixed wings.

The wing design is based on the common Swift bird and can be adjusted while in flight. This tiny aircraft will have a wing span of 50 cm and weigh 80 grams. It will sport 3 cameras. Two will be mounted on the wings looking forward and one mounted on the belly looking downward. By wearing goggles, the pilot on the ground can see the view through the planes cameras.

So far the design seems to be all theory and we did not see an actual model yet. Maybe the should check out the Transformers for more ideas on morphing.
