Robot For Your Golf Course

The RG3 (Robotic Greens Mower 3) was recently unveiled at the 2009 Golf Industry Show. This robot is made by Precise Path and costs over $29,000.
The robot uses ultrasonics and infrared to triangulate its position and runs for about 3 hours before needing a recharge. The company is also developing attachments to allow it to rake sand traps and spray pesticides.
No more wonky greens to putt on because you hired some hack. No more holes in the ground because Bill Murray decides to blow up the gophers.
Watch the golf nuts go gaga over precisely cut greens in the video after the break.

You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your blog.

This is an interesting answer to skyrocketing labor costs, and it would illiminate operator error in many ways. However, I am a little concerned about safety as well as the upkeep / maintenance costs of the already pretty pricey robot. Definately something to consider though! Thanks!
