Tots Prefer to Ride in Style in Their Bumper Car Robots

Scientists at the University of Delaware have created a mashup of a robot and a bumper car for tots.

The goal is to help disabled children explore more on their own.

This slow moving robot called UD1 is controlled by the user with a joystick. UD1 also uses infrared and sonar to keep from hitting obstacles.

Pretty soon these styling tykes will be wanting to get on MTV’s Pimp My Ride.
