Lost In Space Robot
The Lost In Space B9 robot is a live and well and a company actually makes fully licensed replicas of the robot today. Some people call the robot B9 after its model number, but the robot never had an official name on the television show.
On the television show Lost In Space, the robot was actually played by an actor named Bob May in a costume. He passed away earlier this year. See our post about Bob May here.
Mike Joyce, a retired Air Force Pilot, makes the robot replicas in his basement. Each robot contains over 500 voice recordings by Richard Tufeld, the original voice of the robot. Each robot takes 2 months to build and costs almost $25,000.00. So far over 53 people have forked over the dough and bought one of these amazing robots.
