Robots Help Elderly Stay Independent Longer

kompaiA robot named Alfie is helping elderly residents stay independent longer. The robot in use is a KOMPAI robot by Robosoft.

Alfie is part of the ENRICHME (ENabling Robot and assisted living environment for Independent Care and Health Monitoring of the Elderly) project.

The program was launched in December of 2015 and residents of the LACE housing association in the Lincolnshire area of the UK named the first robot Alfie.

The project hopes to enrich the lives of the residents by enabling complimentary care, helping the elderly remain active and enriching their day to day experiences.
