Robotic Jellyfish

Researchers at the Virginia Tech have created a jellyfish inspired robot called RoboJelly.  Using shape memory alloy composites , the robot is able to propel itself like a real jellyfish.

Virginia Tech is also looking at not powering the robot through clunky batteries, but by a chemical reaction from oxygen and hydrogen in the water and platinum coated on the surface of the robot.

Using this chemical reaction would give the robot a potentially infinite power supply.
